Sheriff - Ron Stovall
Ron Stovall’s law enforcement career spans nearly forty years. He began as an officer with the Hope Police Department in April 1971. In 1973, he joined the Arkansas State Police rising to the rank of Captain and serving as Commander of Troop G from which he retired in 2008. He began his service as Miller County Sheriff on January 01, 2009. From his first day in office, Sheriff Stovall has worked diligently to bring integrity, fiscal responsibility, competence, and diversity to the Miller County Sheriff’s Department, putting in place a strong combination of new and retained staff. His staff of knowledgeable, experienced law enforcement and corrections professionals is committed to progress and to serving the citizens of Miller County.

Miller County has implemented the CodeRED® Emergency/Weather Warning Notification System - an ultra high-speed telephone communication service. This system allows us to telephone all or affected areas of the County in case of an emergency or severe weather situation. The CodeRED® Emergency/Weather Warning Notification System delivers customized prerecorded messages directly to homes and businesses, to a person or to an answering machine. In order to be notified via the CodeRED® Emergency/Weather Warning Notification System, your phone number must be included in the telephone database for this system. The database can include business, unlisted, and cell numbers, as well. To assure your phone numbers are included, sign up below. SMART 9-1-1

The Miller County Sheriff’s Office E9-1-1 Dispatch Center has available a free service that lets citizens create a Safety Profile for their household that includes any information they want 9-1-1 to have in the event of an emergency You can create your “safety profile” now by going to This system could be helpful by providing information to the dispatcher, such as directions to your home. Drug Box

Drug Take Back Box

The Miller County Sheriff’s Office has installed a Permanent Drug Take Back Box in front of the Sheriff’s Office so citizens can drive thru and drop off unwanted, old or expired prescription drugs. The box was purchased through a grant from the Prevention Resource Council Region 10 Operated by Southwest Arkansas Counseling & Mental Health Center, Inc. It is a White Box located near the front of the Sheriff’s Office Entrance. This service is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
